G8 security comes from Varese

VARESE - There is a piece of Varese in the upcoming G8 meeting in L'Aquila, involved in a strategical intelligence role and with a unique story. To manage communications between Barak Obama and other heads of state's security helicopters, italian Polizia and Carabinieri will deploy a system called D-Atks. It's a chain of radio links allowing any flying vehicle to send live audio, images and data to ground control. All informations are combined and displayed on digital geostrategical maps, provinding live support to defense operators in the meeting area.
